Audience Response Software
PowerQ
The Xtol interactive solution is the combination
of great hardware and flexible software, designed to work
perfectly together. It allows you to capture your audiences’
opinions and instantly translate them into meaningful data.
The process is simple, fast, accurate and fun!
Here are some key points about our hardware and about PowerQ,
our interactive audience response software package:
There is no limit to the number of handsets
that can be used at one time. Each handset is unique and so
a complete audit trail of which keys have been pressed and
by which handset is available, if required. Communications
are made via a high-speed radio connection.
PowerQ is fully integrated with Microsoft PowerPoint - if you are
already familiar with PowerPoint, you will be creating interactive
presentations with PowerQ within minutes. To create a new
question, just press one PowerPoint button and type in the
question/options – and you are ready to vote! Also,
existing PowerPoint bullet text slides can easily be converted
to PowerQ questions.
And much, much more................

KPL
(Keypad Programming Language)
KPL is a 16 bit windows application, supplied free of charge
with any keypad purchase. It is guaranteed to work with Microsoft
Windows 3.10, 3.11 and Windows 95. KPL has a user friendly
interface which allows easy entry of questions with options,
bitmap backgrounds, enhanced graphics, transitions and quiz
scoring. Graph production from vote data is automatic. Results
can be saved in many formats and active data links can be
set up with applications like PowerPoint and Excel. Controlling
KPL (and any other Windows application running at the same
time) can be via the keyboard or via one of the radio handsets.
This application is ideal for developing meetings, to collect
audience opinion and to run simple quizzes.
SDK
(Software Development Kit)
If you want to write your own software to control and collect
data from the Series 8 hardware, the SDK will provide you
with a range of tools to help. You are given full access to
all keypad communications protocols and technical support
to help you develop software for any computer boasting a standard
serial port (Apples, Acorns etc.). For PC developers, sample
code is provided in Visual basic and in Visual C++. An easy
to use ActiveX control enables you to access up to 65,000
keypads with only a few simple lines of code. There are no
runtime fees for your own software created using the SDK.

EXPANSION MODULES
Assessment Module
(Embedded into KPL)
This new development uses the latest Xtol radio keypad with built
in memory to record up to 240 answers to a multiple choice questionnaire.
Radio communication is not required during the course of the assessment
and keypads can be taken away for answers to be entered in other
rooms or discussion groups. Upon completion, all assessment data
can be downloaded, marked and graded (if applicable). Certificates
can be automatically generated in a RTF (rich text format) compatible
word processor. Raw data can be sent to any compatible windows package
for further analysis.
Research Module
(Embedded into KPL)
Similar to the assessment module, multiple choice answers
are recorded on a radio handset. The difference is that data
can be downloaded at any time from any keypad. Once a user
has answered your questionnaire, the keypad can be immediately
used by another person. As each user finishes answering, live
data appears immediately in your database or spreadsheet giving
an accumulating table of data. Users can be anonymous or names
can be recorded with data. Bar code readers can be used if
large numbers of people are being surveyed and barcoded ID
badges have been issued.
